Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani primaries fail to kick off
Chama Cha Mashinani nominations failed to kick off Wednesday, April 19 morning in Bomet County due to a hitch on the printing of voting materials.
According to chairperson of CCM Election Board, Christopher Lowada, the hitch was caused by a faulty printing machine.
Lowada said the exercise will now be conducted only in Konoin, Sotik and Bomet East Sub Counties when the issue is resolved but voters in Chepalungu and Bomet central sub counties will vote in the CCM primaries on Thursday, April 20.
CCM party leader Isaac Ruto is facing opposition in the primaries from little known Bomet activist, Alvin Koech, who wants to vie on Chama Cha Mashinani ticket in the Bomet Governor’s race.
