Ruto scores 52% as Gachagua gets 48% in Infotrak's performance rating
President William Ruto scored 52%, and his deputy Rigathi
Gachagua 48% in a performance rating by Infotrak. Using a school grading
system, the scores reflect a C and D respectively.
The pollster further rated the National Assembly at 53%, the
Senate at 69%, Judiciary 67%, while the Opposition and Cabinet Secretaries
scored 62% and 67% respectively.
In addition, 58% of Kenyans believe the country is headed on the
wrong path even as 19% feel the country is on the right trajectory.
In an opinion poll which was conducted between March 8 and 10
2024, the pollster cited high cost of living at 64%, unemployment at 38%,
governance at 27%, and poverty at 22%.
However, the 19% believe the country is on the right path
due to peace and tranquility, the executive is working well and a lower cost of
living.
While releasing the survey, where
1000 respondents were interviewed via phone, a lead researcher Johvine Onyango
Wanyingo also revealed that 81% of Kenyans have endorsed Azimio leader Raila
Odinga's bid to contest the AUC seat even as 16% of Kenyans have opposed the
move.
