Ruto promises to give Ksh.50,000 to 70 women and youth in every ward

Ruto, while attending a church service in Nairobi, made a fresh pledge, where he announced that 70 women and youth in every ward will begin to receive money to set up businesses.  

“We have another project where in every ward we will give 70 women and youth groups Ksh. 50,000 to establish businesses,” the Head of State announced the programme that would target 100,000 youth countrywide.

According to Ruto, the program is in line with his Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which he presented to voters in his pre-election manifesto.

“We are looking for those at the bottom to uplift them. Those shouting at me are at the top; they should give me an opportunity to lift those who are at the bottom,” he said.

The Head of State went on to castigate unnamed critics, saying their noise will not stop him from delivering his mandate.

“I don’t care about the noises. I am focused. Because God gave me a chance to lead Kenya, he has given me an assignment to transform this nation, and I will see it through. Those who shout at me can make noise,” he said.

According to Ruto, previous governments failed to deliver on their Universal Health Coverage and affordable housing promises, and he is the “person to do it.”

“I am committed, I am determined, I am focused on transforming Kenya. No amount of intimidation or name-calling is going to change my course. I have an assignment to transform Kenya, and I have enough time to do it,” he told congregants during a church service on Sunday.

Ruto also promised the city a new sewage system that is part of the Ksh.40 billion Nairobi River clean-up project to be completed by January 2027.
