Ruto: I will not be silent as affordable housing plan is sabotaged
Speaking during a church service in Soy, Uasin Gishu County, Ruto said the Affordable Housing project his administration has in the pipes must go on despite a court ruling against it.
Ruto maintained his early claims that some judiciary officials are bribed to make rulings against his administration, saying he will fight on for the benefit of citizens.
"We cannot unite to sabotage other Kenyans. We cannot plan to scuttle efforts to help millions of Kenyans who are jobless," Ruto said.
The president urged other leaders to join hands to create job opportunities for Kenyans, saying they should avoid unnecessary competition.
"There is no competition between the executive and the judiciary or legislature. We must work together for the benefit of millions of Kenyans who pay taxes, people who look up to us," Ruto added.
This comes days after the president caused a stir when he pointed an accusing finger at some judiciary officials, saying they are taking bribes to rule against his plans.
Ruto's sentiments attracted massive criticism from the judiciary itself and a host of other key voices in the country.
Chief Justice Martha Koome said the accusations were threatening the independence of the Judiciary and were a recipe for anarchy.
