President Ruto receives tribunal report clearing Justice Kullow
President William Ruto
on Monday received the report of the tribunal investigating Justice Mohammed
Noor Kullow at State House Nairobi.
The tribunal, which
was chaired by Court of Appeal Judge Patrick Kiage, dismissed all the
allegations against Justice Kullow and recommended his reinstatement to the
Environment and Land Court.
The allegations
against Justice Kullow included delay in delivery of rulings and judgements,
failure to give reasons for the delay and failing to respond to the Chief
Justice’s correspondence.
Other allegations were
retaining a court file thus denying a party the right to lodge an appeal
against a ruling, delivering rulings and judgments without issuing notices, and
incompetence.
President Ruto
commended the tribunal for doing its work efficiently and within the stipulated
time.
Pointing out that
Kenya will continue to be a country guided by the rule of law, the President
said all citizens are protected by the Constitution.
"Our country is
guided by the rule of law. Everyone's interests are protected by the rule of
law," he said.
He said Kenya is proud
of its democratic ideals, adding that all citizens are subject to the
Constitution and the law irrespective of their status.
He assured the
tribunal that the recommendations it had made would be implemented.
