President Ruto makes new appointments to State corporations

President William Ruto has made more changes to various State corporations, revoking the appointments made by his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta in the process.

In the new changes, according to a gazette notice published on Friday, President Ruto named Dr. Jane Lagat the Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board for a period of three years, revoking the appointment of Prof. Wanjiku Kabira.

President Ruto reshuffled the State Corporations Advisory Committee, where he revoked the appointment of Amb. Dennis Awori and instead appointed 5 new members.

The five, who will likewise serve a 3-year term, include; Joseph Kimani Machiri, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, and Caroline Cherono Kilisha.

Former Mandera Governor aspirant Aden Noor Ali  also made the cut as he was appointed the new National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), where he is set to replace Agnes Odhiambo whose appointment has since been revoked.

The Head of State further tapped former Chief of Defence Forces Gen. (Rtd) Samson Mwathethe to be the new Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), kicking out John Waithaka from the same position.

He went ahead to push out Philip Charo from the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority, bringing in Mzee Mwinyi Mzee to occupy the seat.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u, on his part, also made a few appointments, starting with picking John Karani Ndiwa to lead the Council of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management as Chairman.

CS Ndung’u also appointed new members to the council, namely; Jeremiah Kiio Nthusi, Fidel Muema Peter, Moses Allan Omondi, Jennifer Cirindi Njiru, Maryanne Kuvochi Karanja, and Mark Kemboi.

Health CS Wafula Nakhumicha made a couple of changes to the board of the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), bringing in Irine Ogamba and Dennis Muthomi Gitari as members.

Her East African Community, the ASALs and Regional Development counterpart Rebecca Miano revoked the appointments of members of the board of the Coast Development Authority and brought in new people.

Those headed out the door include; Muad Mohammed Khalif, Fouzia Abass, Hassan Rashid Nzinga, Jeff Saye, Julius Kariuki Ndegwa, Ibrahim Khamis and Abdullahi Mohamed Abdi.

Their replacements come in the form of Ricky W. Kambi, Dorcas Jibran, Robert Mue Kisyula, Ikhwan Omar Bwanaadi, Bibi Salim Masha, Toash George Amuma, and Benson Muema Kilonzo.
