President Kenyatta casts vote in Gatundu

President Uhuru Kenyatta cast his vote at Mutomo Primary School in Gatundu South on Tuesday, having arrived at the polling station alongside his wife, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.

The polling clerk then guided him through each stop in the polling place while he placed each ballot paper in its corresponding ballot box.

Uhuru exuded confidence of a smooth process throughout the day as soon as he stepped out of the station.

He further called on Kenyans to keep the calm throughout the polls noting that the process shall be free and fair.

"The process was smooth, the process did not take too long, everything seems to be working we just hope it continue like that for the rest of the day," he said.

"Vote and vote in peace and every Kenyan and myself believe that the election shall be free and fair."

President Kenyatta will be leaving office after a two-year term in leadership.

Earlier on Kenyatta's mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta arrived at the premise to cast her vote.
