Pastor Ezekiel wants probe on his TV station stopped
Embattled
televangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odero has asked a Mombasa court to close a case he
presented before the task force probing the closure of his church’s television
station.
Through
his lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Obeta, Odero argues the panel does not
have enough quorum to deliberate on the matter and thus the court’s directive
wanting them to take the case before the taskforce has not been handled
properly.
But
the committee has dismissed the pastor’s allegations and said the matter is
still being probed.
Pastor
Odero appeared before the DCI offices in Mombasa, his third time since a court
released and directed him to appear before the detectives every Monday. He
however claims he was not grilled or required to record statements.
The
case before Justice Olga Sewe will be mentioned on June 14.
Pastor Odero is being investigated over alleged
money laundering and economic crimes.
