Operations have been paralyzed at Brooke trading centre in the outskirts of Kericho town after irate residents took to the streets protesting over what they termed as skewed employment by multinationals.
The residents torched 3 tea plucking machines belonging to the Kimugu tea estate owned by the Ekatera tea company.
The protestors engaged police officers in running battles at Brooke trading centre.
They lit bonfires in the middle of Kericho-Nakuru causing traffic snarl up along the busy highway.
Police have been forced to lob teargas canisters to try and disperse the angry protestors.
