One shot dead, three severely injured in Baringo bandit attack

Confirming the incident, Loruk Police Station OCS Edward Serem said that the attack happened at Moinonin area at the Baringo North sub-county border, where an unknown number of armed bandits fired at the convoy, killing the woman on the spot despite the vehicles being escorted by police.
Police officers have arrived at the scene.
The attack comes barely a week after two other people were killed at the Loberer area along the same highway.
The two, who were on their way to Nginyang market, were ambushed by suspected bandits who have now mutated and become highway robbers. The traders who were on police convoy were ambushed as two lorries were shot at.
The driver of one of the lorry tried to escape by foot after seeing the lorry which was ahead of them ambushed. The bandits sprayed bullets at the vehicle ,killing him on the spot while the other died in hospital.
Marigat-Loruk road has recently become a dreaded route with police providing escort to vehicle plying the route. According to locals, insecurity in the region has been increasing.
