OKA principals Kalonzo, Moi sever ties with Mudavadi: No room for games

One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has now severed ties with Musalia Mudavadi who is now teaming up with Deputy President William Ruto.

Co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi announced the split in a Sunday statement, saying OKA could not condone Mudavadi’s political games and that they were moving to ‘higher grounds’.

The announcement came moments after the duo walked out of Musalia Mudavadi's much-anticipated 'earthquake' convention on Sunday at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, following DP Ruto's entry to the auditorium alongside his allies.

"Our principals Hon Kalonzo Musyoka and Hon Gideon Moi out of respect honored his invitation as a co-principal to attend the Bomas event and congratulated him for being nominated by his party to go and look for more friends," OKA spokesperson Fredrick Okango stated.

"Unfortunately we have to part ways since some of his friends are not our friends and we are unsafe with them. We are therefore moving to higher grounds where Kenyans are safer," he added.

Okongo further expressed the two co-principals' uneasiness at the alliance, saying that some of Mudavadi's friends are not their friends and that they are unsafe with them.

The leaders, however, expressed best wishes for the ANC leader stating that they shall not entertain nasty political games.

"It is time to move forward , it is time to end the nasty political games," said Okango.

"We would like to wish Hon. Mudavadi the best of luck as he joins his other partners. There is no room for damages."

The party's breakup has been imminent after speculations that its leaders might warm up to Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA and ODM leader Raila Odinga’s camp.
