Police officers bust cattle-theft syndicate, cow recovered in a Probox

Police officers in Eldama Ravine have arrested six people believed to be part of a notorious cattle-theft syndicate.

Four of the suspects were arrested at Kipkelion in Kericho while two others were nabbed at Kamara in Nakuru.

Koibatek sub-county police commander Maxwell Agoro confirmed the incident, saying that the two cows had been stolen at Kamurwa village.

Officers who had responded to a distress call by owners of the cows said one of  the animals were tracked to Kipkelion where four suspects were  arrested in the sting operation.

The suspects were then transferred to Eldama Ravine with one of the cows they had stolen and upon arrival, they snitched on the whereabouts of the second cow.

It was then that officers tracked and arrested the other two suspects in Kamara with the second animal.

Officers investigating the matter say the two cows had been stolen on Friday and transported to the two hideouts on a Toyota Probox.

The suspects are currently being held at the Eldama Ravine police station awaiting their arraignment in court.
