New twist as DCI detectives now reveal suspect in Eric Maigo murder case is not a minor and is fit to stand trial

the main suspect in the gruesome murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director
Eric Maigo is fit to stand trial.
This emerged on
Wednesday following an age and mental assessment conducted at the Mathari
Hospital in Nairobi which confirmed she is a Kenyan adult of sound mind contrary
to earlier reports that she might have been a minor.
Adhiambo was presented
before court on a miscellaneous application on the 27th of September, where the
court granted the prosecution 21 days to hold her pending conclusion of investigations.
Sources privy to
the investigation revealed that the age and mental assessment is set to be presented
before court upon the lapse of the 21 days.
Adhiambo was
captured on CCTV escaping from the scene of Maigo's murder on the morning of
15th of October at Jamhuri area of Nairobi.
She was arrested at
Olympic in Kibra after efforts by detectives were backed by members of the public
who provided intelligence on her whereabouts.
Adhiambo stands
accused of being behind the gruesome murder of Maigo whose lifeless body was
found in his house bearing 25 stab wounds.
Adhiambo who has already
recorded a statement with the police is expected back in court on the 28th of October.
