Nakuru: University student arrested after woman's decomposing body found in his house

A 21-year-old university student was on Monday arraigned in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old woman in Molo, Nakuru County.

Mark Njoroge Wanjiku, who is a Third Year Computer Science student at Kibabii University, was presented before Molo Resident Magistrate Rhoda Yato.

Njoroge was arrested on Sunday, January 9 in Lanet, Nakuru after Mary Njeri Kamau's decomposing and mutilated body was found in the house he was living in.

It was reported that Mary Njeri, a mother of eight, went missing after leaving her home on 31st December 2021.

According to detectives, Njorge failed to explain to detectives why a dead mutilated body was found in his house upon questioning.

Appearing before Molo Resident Magistrate Rhoda Yator, the investigating officer made an application to hold the suspect for another 14 to conclude investigations. Magistrate Yator granted the application.

The case will be mentioned on the 24th of January 2022.
