Nakuru: Likia forest ordered closed after three injured in recent conflict
Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara has
ordered the closure of Likia Forest which is on the border of Nakuru and Narok counties.
This comes after three people were injured
within the forest over resource-related conflict in recent days.
Commissioner Kibaara says the closure of the
forest is to prevent further escalation of the infighting between the two communities.
“Kwa sasa huo msitu tumefunga,na hakuna mtu
yeyeote atafanya biashara yeyote,” Kibaara said.
The commissioner urged communities to
remain peaceful and asked the two warring factions to exercise caution.
