Nakuru IDPs claim lives in danger after vice chair kidnapping
A section of Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) leaders in Nakuru County have expressed fear for their lives after one of them was allegedly kidnapped and dumped with injuries in Naivasha over the weekend.
Julius Mwangi Njuguna, the Vice Chairman of Naivasha Sub County Integrated IDPs, suffered a deep cut on his head after he was kidnapped by three men armed with a pistol and crude weapons on Friday.
They claim that Mr Mwangi was picked from his house and taken to an isolated place within the expansive Delamere estate where he was tortured before being released.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mwangi said that the kidnappers told him that they had been sent to kill him because he was one of the IDPs interfering with the ongoing compensation process.
The Vice Chair was treated at the Naivasha Level Four hospital after recording a statement at Naivasha police station.
