Muite wants cases challenging Gachagua impeachment referred to CJ Koome

Lawyer Paul Muite, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's lead counsel wants the cases challenging the DP's impeachment to be referred to Chief Justice Martha Koome to constitute a three-judge bench to hear them.
He argues that the matters before Justice Lawrence Mugambi raise weighty issues.
"It's not about numbers in the National Assembly....There has to be proof of gross violation of the constitution , this is very important," he argues.
Muite says Article 1 of the constitution is very important and the court should bear in mind that "we are talking about the sovereignty of the people who elected the president and the deputy president."
Meanwhile, Law Society of Kenya has been enjoined in the case.
