Mining and Petroleum CAS John Mosonik declares interest in Bomet Governor seat
Mining and Petroleum Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) John Mosonik has announced that he will contest for the Bomet Governor seat in the 2022 elections.
Mosonik attributes his interest in the county
leadership to his vast experience in the private sector and in the ministry which he says has granted him what it takes to lead the county.
“In 2022 I will be gunning up for the gubernatorial seat in Bomet
County. This is a decision which has arrived after searching and thinking over
it,” Mosonik said.
“I have the private sector compliment and the civil service
compliment. Through my experience especially in roads, I think I can transfer it
into the county. I have gained a lot in strategic leadership which we really
want,” he added.
The CAS outlined the challenges facing the people of Bomet
saying that he had the ultimate solution to address them.
“There are many challenges which we have at this point in
time in terms of health sector, infrastructure roll-out, water, electricity, and
unemployment,” said Mosonik.
“I want the people of Bomet to remember me
with the legacy which I want to offer them; to fix the health sector, to do the
infrastructure, to do the employment issue and improve their livelihoods.”
“People should look around in the last nine years and see there is nothing that you can be proud of. You should be able to look at a legacy and say, oh we have good roads,” he said.
Governor Barchok ascended to power after the death of the late Governor Joyce Laboso who succumbed to cancer in July 2019.
