Militonic Mwendwa: Politician who unsuccessfully vied for MP seat arrested for impersonating EACC officials

A statement seen by Citizen Digitial says that the man identified as "an armed and dangerous criminal" was found to be issuing fake Integrity Clearance Certificates to job seekers at a fee while using the identity of top EACC officials.

The individual has also been said to bear a conviction history and unsuccessfully vied for a parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections.

"The suspect, Militonic Mwendwa Kitute, was tracked by EACC Detectives from Nairobi to  his Kitui home where he was arrested on Saturday 4am. His firearm and 7 mobile phones are among items  confiscated from him," the statement reads. 

He was escorted to Kilimani Police Station and is set to be arraigned at Milimani Law Courts today, Monday, April 22.
