Migori cane farmers want millers to come up with better payment plans

Adongo who has lauded the national government for clearing all the farmers’ arrears said the millers must now ensure that they pay farmers within a period of one week of two weeks from the day of cane delivery.

He said the millers must ensure that the payment is done immediately adding that they are not going to allow millers to accumulate debts again.

Kenya National Federation of sugarcane farmers Migori branch secretary said they will not give cane to the millers who do not want to pay farmers promptly.

Adongo said they are ready to work closely with Sony Sugar Company as long as the company is willing to harvest their cane and also pay them on time.
