Matiang’i will not appear before DCI today, lawyer says

Former interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi will not appear at the DCI offices as it was expected today, his lawyer Danstan Omari has said.
Omari told Citizen Digital that there were no valid summons to compel the former CS to present himself at the detectives’ offices.
Matiangi jetted back to the country on Saturday after a two week private tour in Europe, and it was expected that he will present himself at DCI offices.
Matiangi is also currently under the EACC radar over his wealth from 2013-2022 after the anti-graft agency wrote to the head of public service on the same.
His lawyer claimed that his client was not aware of any investigations against him but he welcomes any action by officers as is their constitutional mandate.
