Man hit and killed by speeding car on Nakuru-Eldoret highway

The accident occurred in the Cheptiret area of Uasin Gishu County.

Witnesses say the deceased appeared drunk before attempting to cross the road near the Cheptiret bridge when he was hit by a speeding car. 

Witnesses say the man died on the spot and that the crack that hit him did not stop after the incident. 

Ainabkoi sub-county police commander Stephen Kimunya confirmed the Tuesday incident, saying police were investigating the matter to find the motorist, who is still at large. 

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
