Man carjacked after pulling over to relieve himself in Embu

Police in Embu West have launched investigations into a carjacking incident involving a man who was attacked after pulling over to relieve himself in Embu Town.

The victim, Charles Nyaga, was reportedly heading back to Kitengela from his rural home when he stopped along the roadside in Embu.

According to Nyaga, two men emerged from the darkness, one armed with a knife, and ordered him back into his vehicle.

“They forced me into the car and told me to move to the passenger seat,” Nyaga recounted. “A third man then appeared and took over the steering wheel, driving off at high speed.”

Nyaga says the car got stuck in the mud near Iveche, prompting the suspects to rob him and flee on foot, abandoning both the vehicle and the victim at a nearby shamba close to Kangaru Girls.

After the ordeal, Nyaga managed to report the incident at the Embu Police Station.

Kamiu Location Chief Sammy Njagi said the incident came to light after residents spotted the abandoned vehicle in a bushy area and alerted authorities. Upon visiting the scene, they found the owner, who narrated what had transpired.

Chief Njagi has urged motorists to be cautious and scan their surroundings carefully before stopping in isolated areas.

He confirmed that DCI officers have since visited the scene and dusted the vehicle for forensic evidence as investigations continue.
