Machakos MCAs vow to impeach Speaker Ann Kiusya

Over 38 MCAs on Tuesday held a press conference, where they said that Speaker Kiusya has proved beyond reasonable doubt that she is incompetent and has been derailing development agendas in the Assembly.

Led by Nicholas Nzioka Wangondi, the mover of the motion, the MCAs said their move has not been pushed by Wiper party nor by Governor Wavinya Ndeti.

Wangondi said that the move is non-political as it is pushed by MCAs from all parties including Wiper, GDDP, Maendeleo ChapChap, and even independent candidates. 

The MCA asked those with prove that some MCAs had been paid to move the motion should take evidence to DCI or EACC.

He accused the Speaker of withdrawing Ksh.250 million meant for development and refused to be advised. 

On his part, deputy Speaker Stephen Mwanthi said there is no retreat in the impeachment motion as the Assembly has reached an agreement.

He said that much has derailed in development of the Assembly and sometimes the development budget is being sent back.He insisted that they have numbers and nothing will stop them and there was no room for negotiations as sanity has to be done.

MCA Mbili Ndawa urged the speaker to resign without wastage of time and resources.
