LSK Seeks Court Order To Lift Lamu Curfew
LSK, through lawyer Antony Oluoch is protesting the extension of the curfew saying that it is a total violation of human rights which has negatively affected the economy of the coastal town.
LSK says the curfew has led to the closure of many hotels.
The lawyers’ body contended that the curfew is contrary to provisions in the constitution.
Justice Mumbi Ngugi who certified the case declared the matter as urgent.
Justice Mumbi directed the LSK to serve Kimaiyo.
An inter parties hearing is scheduled for 5th of December 2014 at Malindi High Court.
