Lamu: Man who fondled minor jailed for 10 years

A Lamu court has handed a 10-year sentence to a 46-year-old suspect who defiled a minor after buying her petty gifts.

According to detectives, the suspect had on several occasions given the 8-year-old girl chocolate as well as a KSh.50 note before fondling her.

His charge sheet says that he was arrested two weeks into the act at his office where he used to take the underage girl.

Lamu Allan, the magistrate who presided over the matter said the sentence was a punishment for the crime the suspect had committed.

He said the court had received sufficient evidence to make the conviction.

The latest comes just two days after a man in Kericho was arrested after a viral video of him in romp with a minor hit the internet.

Detectives handling the matter are following leads to ascertain whether the girl appearing in the video was a minor at the time the video was shot.
