Kisii: Four killed by neighbours in family land tussle
Police in
Kisii County are investigating the gruesome killings of
four people at Sugubo village in Nyamache.
According to
area OCPD Kipkulei Kipkemoi, there was a long-standing land tussle within the
family of one James Kerandi, which attracted the attention of angry villagers on
Saturday evening.
Three houses were
torched by agitated members of the community in addition to destruction of
unknown amount of valuables.
Enraged
locals used crude weapons, including fork jembes, arrows and machetes, to lynch
the three.
A charred
body was retrieved earlier on Sunday burnt to ashes inside one of the three
houses.
A multi-agency
team has since collected samples from the crime scenes for examination. One of
the guards who escaped with serious injuries is receiving treatment at Kisii Teaching
and Refferal Hospital.
The four
bodies have since been taken to Nyamache Sub County hospital awaiting an
autopsy.
