Kiambu County Hospital on the spot after woman goes unattended for 10 hours after stillbirth
Kiambu County Referral Hospital
Judith Wambui, the patient in question, had a stillborn baby due to her diabetic condition and had to wait for her ultra-sound results before she could have gone into a caesarian.
According to the CEC Dr Elies Maina, the relative who was captured in the viral video decrying neglect by the staff was not patient to ask and follow the due process while she was recording the trending video.
He says the situation has been addressed and the mother is well taken care of and awaiting discharge at the facility.
The Medical Sup further told Citizen Digital that the hospital is installing a new system which will be monitoring the turnaround time of a patient from the time she checks in at any facility in Kiambu County.
The clip which surfaced across media platforms on Wednesday morning showed an irate woman aggressively complaining that her patient had not been attended to for hours.
Security officers were also captured trying to calm her down as she provocatively told them off.
At some point, the woman could be heard threatening in her local dialect to strip naked if they did not attend to her patient.
“She is suffering…na mimi ni mama. Nimewahi zaa na ninajua uchungu wa mwana. Alikuja hapa six, the infant has already died in her womb and she is also diabetic. Si mnipee niende na yeye!” The teary woman requested.
“If you don’t know your work I will keep recording! I will not go! Ama nitoe nguo?” the woman protested after being asked to leave the premises.
