Kerugoya Hospital performs its first spinal surgery

Patients with spine injuries in Kerugoya will no longer be referred to other hospitals for surgery after Kerugoya County Referral Hospital successfully performed the first spinal surgery.

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru took to social media to congratulate the team that undertook the tasking procedure successfully.

“The first Spinal Surgery has been done at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital. We thank the surgical team led by Dr. Oluoch for this Medical Milestone that gives hope to our patients. I prayerfully wish the patient a speedy recovery,” the social media post read.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha shared congratulatory message noting the medical stride is a testament to the gains of devolution and the cordial working relationship between the national government and the county government.

“Congratulations to the medical teams in Kirinyaga County and to Governor Anne Waiguru for successfully executing this complex Spinal Surgery,” she said.
