A Kenyan delegation recently participated in the Seminar on Digital Culture Construction for Belt and Road Countries, hosted by the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration in China.

During the program, the group visited Inspur Software Technology Co., Ltd. in Jinan, Shandong Province, where they gained valuable insights into how digital technologies are transforming culture and governance in China’s rapidly evolving economy.

The delegation, comprising professionals from the cultural, tourism, and ICT sectors, explored Inspur’s cutting-edge innovations in cloud computing, big data, and digital public services—technologies that align closely with Kenya’s own digital transformation goals.

The visit opened avenues for potential collaboration, particularly in areas such as digitizing cultural heritage, improving e-governance, and developing smart cities.

Beyond technology, the delegates also took part in the Jinan Green Development Study Tour, experiencing China’s approach to sustainable urban planning firsthand. A highlight was the visit to Baotu Spring, a historic and environmentally protected site that perfectly showcases Jinan’s harmonious integration of technology, nature, and culture.

This experience provided Kenyan delegates with a valuable platform to exchange ideas with peers from across Belt and Road Initiative countries. They explored how digital culture construction can support cultural preservation, economic growth, and sustainable development back in Africa.

The visit further strengthens the growing partnership between China and Kenya, inspiring Kenya’s journey toward building a digital economy that balances innovation with cultural heritage.
