Kenya Power scales up surveillance ahead of Africa Climate Summit

Kenya Power has scaled up electricity lines surveillance in Nairobi as the Africa Climate Week and Summit 2023 kicks off at the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre (KICC).

KPLC has since assigned a dedicated team that will be doing a 24-hour manning of all the power transmitters at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

The team that is under KPLC CEO and MD  Dr. Joseph Siror also comprises of top KPLC management and has been tasked to ensure that all installations and running uninterrupted and avoid any hitch during the high level climate summit.

A spot check by Citizen Digital has also established that major installations and replacement of faulty street lights are also being replaced in the last minute touches.

KPLC has also deployed teams to do a round the clock surveillance of power around five star hotels where Heads of State and other dignitaries will be residing from.

President William Ruto had last during the cabinet meeting in Kakamega directed close supervision of power transmission lines following the nationwide blackout.
