Kenya Kwanza MPs say Ruto's move to support Raila will earn him a win in 2027

A section of Kenya Kwanza Members of Parliament now say that President William Ruto will have an unopposed re-election in the 2027 presidential election.

The lawmakers said the recent political moves by President Ruto have hinted at a strategy to penetrate his political rival territories as he builds his chances for the 2027 polls.

Machakos MP Caleb Mule said the commitment by Ruto to support Raila Odinga's bid for the AU job is part of a strategy to gain favour from Odinga’s supporters to bolster his 2027 re-election bid.

On his part, Emurrua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno noted that Ruto has a plan to tone down political antagonism across the country to create an environment conducive to development.

His sentiments were echoed by Manyatta MP Mukunji Gitonga and Laikipia Woman representative Jane Kagiri.

Following opposition leader Raila Odinga’s formal declaration that he will be running for the AU Commission chairperson’s job, there has been a wave of excitement in Kenya Kwanza and jitters in Odinga's strongholds.
