KEBS boss, 9 others to be charged over attempted murder

Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Managing Director Charles Ongwae and nine other officials are this morning expected to answer to several criminal charges.

They are expected to answer to several charges among them attempted murder, aiding the commission of a felony, abuse of office, breach of trust and selling substandard goods.

It is believed that the prosecution will make an application to have the accused persons denied bail pending hearing and determination of their case.

The prosecution alleges that if Ongwae and others are released on bail they might interfere with witnesses lined up in the case.

Further they claim that they have a water tight case adding that they are flight risk and therefore will not attend court proceedings if released on bail.
