Kalonzo, wife back in the country
Wiper Party leader and NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka together with his wife are back in the country after nearly three months.
The plane carrying Mr and Mrs Musyoka is said to have landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at around 2am. They were picked by their son Kennedy.
Kalonzo left the country on October 11, 2017 two weeks before the October 26 repeat presidential election to be with his ailing wife who was hospitalised in Germany.
He was expected to return to the country on December 18 ahead of former Kitui West Member of Parliament Francis Nyenze’s burial which took place on Tuesday, December 19 in Kabati, Kitui West. His long-awaited return came to naught after he reportedly missed a flight .
Reports have it that he will visit Nyenze’s home tomorrow, Thursday, December 28.
His absence from the country has been subject to political undertones with speculations emerging that Kalonzo, who was Raila Odinga’s running mate in the last election, was drifting away from opposition politics.
While in Germany, Kalonzo maintained a low profile and rarely made major political statements.
