In a statement, Judiciary spokesperson Paul Ndemo accused the Senior Counsel of making baseless claims without tabling a formal complaint against a particular judge.
Ndemo assured the public that the Judiciary is open to scrutiny and is willing to be held to account, citing that anyone with credible information of misconduct among any judge to present it to the police for investigations.
"Despite these calls, SC Ahmednasir has resorted to a campaign to disparage the Judiciary, its leadership and senior judges without making any formal complaint, leading us to conclude that he does not have any credible information and is simply besmirching the reputation of the Judiciary and its leadership for his own undisclosed ends," the statement read in part.
"This pattern of conduct is not only unbecoming and unprofessional of an advocate with the status of senior counsel, but potentially serves to erode public confidence in the Judiciary and eventually undermine the rule of law, which is one of the ideals upon which our constitutional democracy is founded."
Ndemo noted that such accusations can erode the public's confidence in the Judiciary, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring an effective administration of justice.
"In the constitutional architecture of democratic states such as Kenya, the Judiciary is established as the last bastion for the realisation and defence of rights and freedoms of all individuals," the Judiciary added.
"Judges, Judicial officers and staff work under extremely difficult and constrained environments, if only to deliver on this constitutional promise."
To mitigate the situation, the Judiciary called on the DPP to take action and appealed to the Law Society of Kenya and the Senior Counsel Bar to restore the dignity of the Bar and the legal profession.
