Some of the leaders
nominated to join the Cabinet, as part of President William Ruto's
broad-based government approach, have taken to social media to express
gratitude to the Head of State.
This comes after Ruto announced his second batch of Cabinet
Secretary nominees, totaling ten individuals, on Wednesday.
Among the 10 nominees, Ruto
recommended ODM Chair and nominated MP John Mbadi to lead the Treasury and
Ugunja MP James Opiyo Wandayi to oversee the Energy Ministry.
Similarly, Ruto nominated
former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to lead the Ministry of Mining and Blue
Economy, and former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya to head the Ministry of
Cooperatives and MSMEs Development.
In a statement on X, Joho expressed profound appreciation to the Head of State for nominating him to the Cabinet.
On his part, Wandayi lauded President Ruto's
nomination promising to serve diligently in the Energy docket should he be
confirmed into the position by Parliament.
"Thank you, President @WilliamsRuto for
nominating me to the position of CS, Energy and Petroleum. It will be a great
honor and privilege to serve my country in this new capacity if I secure the
approval of the National Assembly. My gratitude to Baba @RailaOdinga for his
enduring mentorship and tutelage," he said.
Wandayi's sentiments were echoed by Rebecca Miano, who was nominated to lead the Tourism docket after initially being recommended as Kenya's new Attorney General.
