The legislator has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to consider increasing the number of police officers in the area, arguing that the area has inadequate security personnel.
Mr Odhiambo cited several murder cases including the killing of a woman in Yala, another one at Sinaga and the recent murder of a teacher in Gem Kaudha.
He however stated that even as they wait for the government to increase more officers in the region, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations must also up its game to combat the vice.
Mr Odhiambo stated that the area DCI boss must be ready to work or be transferred if he is not going to help restore peace in the area.
The lawmaker stated that the DCI boss should explain what the problem is so that he can be supported or quit the job all the same.
He made the remarks barely a week after a boda boda operator was mysteriously murdered in an incident that culminated in a revenge mission that saw two other people murdered and another one seriously injured at Ndori sub-location within South Gem location.
