Speaking in Kirinyaga on Sunday, the former DP said Lagat should be investigated, arrested and prosecuted over the mysterious death of the blogger in police custody. Ojwang was arrested after a defamation complaint made against him by DIG Lagat.
Gachagua said many youth have been eliminated in a very cruel manner and the government should be held fully responsible for the extra - judicial killings which have sent shockwaves across the country.
Gachagua claimed that the squad consists of highly trained individuals, an order that was seconded by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) headed by Noordin Haji.
He linked the squad to the unexplained death of Albert Ojwang', alleging that there are many Kenyans who have met their untimely deaths at the hands of the squad, and the cases have been expertly covered up.
He reiterated that the opposition will field one presidential candidate to battle it out with President William Ruto in 2027 Election. "Opposition is firm and it is not divided," Gachagua said.
Gachagua also accused the government of discriminating against Mt Kenya region during the ongoing economic empowerment across the country.
The former DP was accompanied by Martha karua who expressed confidence that the opposition will beat Ruto in the presidential race. She pleaded with Kenyans to help the opposition root out Ruto, whom she accused of running down the country.
Karua called on Kenyans to unite to liberate Kenyans from the chains of oppression and bad governance.
She reiterated that the opposition were united and told Kenyans to follow suit.
"We have unity of purpose as opposition and Kenyans should rally behind," she said.
Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango and Woman Representative Njeri Maina lashed out at the government for plotting to remove tax on imported rice at the expense of local farmers.
"The government want imported rice to be duty-free to flood the country with cheap rice from foreign country so that local farmers will not have market for their produce, we shall not allow this to happen," said Murango.
Maina opined that it is immoral for government to plan how to oppress its own people.
The Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru and his Embakasi North counterpart James Gakuya also accused the government of gross violations of human rights.
