Four Ugandan police officers who were arrested in Busia released

Four Ugandan police officers who were being held at the Busia police station have been released.

Sources indicate that they were freed following a meeting between officers from the Uganda police force and those from the Kenya Police led by Commissioner Jacob Narengo.

Citizen Digital learnt that the meeting was called to resolve the dispute after the officers were arrested for allegedly entering the country illegally while armed.

Kenyan police officers had been reportedly trailing a lorry believed to be carrying used car batteries from Uganda.

The lorry is said to have used the Alupe route and on reaching a roadblock at around midnight Friday, the Uganda officers were arrested.

The vehicle they were in had Registration No. UP 5615.
