Police have seized four more illegal firearms in Angata Barikoi area of Transmara South Sub-County, Narok County, after they were voluntarily surrendered to security agencies under the ongoing government amnesty on illegal weapons.

The recovered firearms comprise one AK-47 rifle and three homemade guns capable of firing. Police said the weapons have been secured and will undergo further processing in accordance with the law.

The National Police Service (NPS) commended local leaders and residents for their cooperation, noting that community support remains critical in efforts to curb the proliferation of illicit firearms and enhance security in the region.

Police have urged anyone still in possession of illegal weapons to take advantage of the amnesty period and surrender them, warning that enforcement measures will follow once the window closes.

"The Service further urges the public to continue partnering with the police by providing information on suspicious activities through the toll-free numbers 999, 911, or 112, or anonymously via #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000," said NPS in a statement on Sunday.
