Former Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda Hospitalized

According to his family, 90 year old Kaunda was admitted at the Lusaka Trust Hospital on Tuesday.

His daughter Cheswa Silwizya confirmed that he was in hospital but declined to reveal the nature of his hospitalization.

"He is doing well and on the road to recovery," Silwizya said.

"I can’t speak about what the problem is. That can only be said by the doctors," Silwizya added.

Mr Kaunda was Zambia’s President for 27 years after the country gained independence from British colonial rule in 1964.
