Ford Kenya leaders to CS Wamalwa: Respect Wetangula, he worked for your late brother

A section of politicians allied to Ford Kenya have implored Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to respect their party leader Moses Wetangula, citing that his successful political career has placed him firmly ahead of the minister in all aspects.

According to Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga, the CS has wrongly fixed his attention on Wetangula instead of concentrating on the affairs of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), to which he is affiliated.

“Whenever you open your mouth you always talk about Moses Wetangula. What is wrong with you? Moses is not in your party, he is Ford Kenya’s leader and he has been politics ahead of you,” said Kalasinga.

“He is ahead of you in age, in the legal, field and in all political areas. Respect Wetangula because he worked for your late brother Kijana Wamalwa.”

He similarly criticized Wamalwa for his decison to host the launching of the DAP-K party in Bungoma County instead of Trans Nzoia where Kalasinga alleged he hails from.

“Instead of Eugene Wamalwa going to Trans Nzoia to launch his party he comes to Bungoma, where he is not even from.  We are telling him that time has run out. We are going to disown you," said the Kabuchai MP.

“In Bungoma, we are settled on a party. Ford Kenya is here and it is spreading everywhere. We want to tell you to stop using candidates even in Trans Nzoia County. Run yourself, so that we can dissolve you from where you come from.”

His sentiments were shared by Bungoma National Assembly Majority leader and MCA Joseph Nyongesa, who insisted that the formation of rival political parties in the area was not scattering Ford Kenya’s plans ahead of the polls next year.

The retaliatory remarks by Kalasinga and Nyongesa come after CS Wamalwa, on December 14, publicly called out Wetangula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi for their reluctance to support ODM leader Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja campaign.

This happened during the launch of DAP-K in early December, when the party chose to endorse Odinga’s presidential bid.

“It is their democratic right to be in OKA but I want to tell Musalia and Wetangula that if they continue to remain out there, they will remain out of government,” Wamalwa said then.
