Shock has engulfed Elburgon, Nakuru County, after the brutal killing of an elderly couple allegedly by their farm worker.

The victims, Pius Machogu, 72, and his wife Jerusha Kwamboka, 70, were reportedly murdered before their bodies were dumped in a pit latrine within their compound.

Neighbors raised the alarm after failing to trace the couple, leading to the grim discovery.

Police, with the help of locals, managed to retrieve the bodies from the latrine. The suspect, who had initially attempted to flee, was later arrested and is now in custody as investigations continue.

The killings have left the community in deep shock, with many describing the late Machogu and his wife as respected and peace-loving.

Authorities have assured residents that justice will be served and called for calm as the probe proceeds.
