Education CS warns of expulsion for officers in exam irregularities
Ogamba, who was speaking at Siala Technical and Vocational Training Center in Rongo when he led a tree planting exercise said the ministry is keen on delivering a clean examination.
Ogamba said anybody in the education sector who will be involved in exam cheating will face serious consequences that include being expelled.
“The security we have put in the exam this year is high-tech. So that we can reduce malpractices if you are caught in any exam malpractice this time the law will take its natural course, there will be penalties…you will be barred from operating in the education sector," said Ogamba.
The CS has appealed to all the people in the education sector to support the government in achieving a credible national examination.
Meanwhile, Ogamba has indicated that the government is navigating challenges that have been ailing the sector.
He said it’s unfortunate that the people who are supposed to help the ministry deliver effective services are talking about the education system that is collapsing.
The CS education said every person in the country has a role to play in the education sector and therefore they should do it for the sake of the learners of this country.
Ogamba stated the ministry is in the process of ensuring that the learning activities at grade nine commence next year without any hiccups. He said several measures that include the building of classrooms are ongoing.
