Duale flags off fully-electric vehicles by auto dealer MOJAEV
The entry of MOJAEV into Kenya's expanding e-mobility market with their Skyworth and NETA vehicle brands is a crucial step in reducing emissions and enhancing air quality in our urban areas.
The transport sector contributes 10% of Kenya's national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with projections indicating that the figure could rise to 17% by 2030.
Therefore, the growing uptake of electric vehicles will substantially reduce transport sector emissions, helping Kenya achieve her national emission reduction targets.
Transition to e-mobility is at the core of Kenya's Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS), the updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and 3rd National Climate Change Action Plan (NCAP III) launched last year by President William Ruto at the inaugural Africa Climate Summit.
The Cabinet Secretary was joined at the flag-off by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Gladys Boss Shollei and Industry PS Juma Mukhwana.
