Drama looms as reports emerge of ‘Miguna on blacklist’
Embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna has apparently been put on a blacklist circulated to international airlines that operate in Kenya.
An image said to be from Qatar Airways shows that Immigration authorities issued the order on Wednesday, May 23.
This comes barely days after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko nominated the controversial lawyer as his nominee for deputy
Miguna has been embroiled in a lengthy tussle with senior government officials over his citizenship status.
Court orders for Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa to comply and allow him entry bore no fruit.
He later filed a fresh case on May 18 seeking unconditional entry into Kenya. However, the State responded saying that it would not oblige as he did not fill papers to regularize his status.
The Government has maintained its tough stance that the self-declared National resistance Movement (NRM) general lost his Kenyan citizenship when he applied to be a Canadian.
The latest move is one in a series of several government attempts to keep the fiery lawyer out of the country.
