Do not give up, there's a second chance in life - Pastor Dorcas Rigathi tells prisoners
The
Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi spent the better part of Friday
talking to inmates at the little known Kendege GK Prison at the Kenya-Tanzania
border in Kuria East, Migori County.
Pastor
Dorcas, in her ongoing boychild campaign, urged the 150 prisoners to reform
once they are released to be better men in the society. The prison hosts 150
inmates serving jail terms of between 1 month and 5 years.
“Regardless of what you have done, you have a
second chance for life. Reset your mind, here in prison, learn a skill, for as
a man thinketh so is he,” said Pastor Dorcas.
“According to your thoughts, you will succeed
or fail. But when
you come out of these gates, please be better people in the society.”
Pastor
Dorcas has been going into prisons as part of her boychild campaign to talk to
the inmates, especially the male prisons.
She has
so far been to Kiambu Prison in Kiambu County, Rumuruti Prison in Laikipia
County, Chuka GK Prison in Tharaka Nithi County, King’ong’o Prison in Nyeri
where she was accompanied by the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua among others.

the presidential directive on planting 15 billion trees by 2032.
The Office
of the Deputy President has been assigned the Kehancha area of Migori County in
the tree planting exercise with a target of 2 million trees annually.
Migori
County First Lady Dr. Agnes Ochillo, who had accompanied Pastor Dorcas, challenged
the inmates not to return to their homes the same way they came, but to learn a
skill.
The
inmates also had a chance to share their stories behind bars, promising to
reform.
Others

Marwa and Nyanza
