Chatham House: Prime CS Mudavadi hails President Ruto’s diplomatic efforts

Mr Mudavadi delivered glowing commendations for President William Ruto's exceptional diplomatic efforts and their profound impact on Kenya's economic development and global standing.
In a resounding address at Chatham House, a British think tank based in London on December 7, Mudavadi emphasized the substantial impact of President Ruto's diplomatic efforts on Kenya's foreign policy imperatives.
"His Excellency President Ruto's diplomatic efforts have yielded significant achievements and benefits for Kenya's economic development," he said
He highlighted the administration's commitment to a new era of diplomacy, characterized by intertwining relationships with mutually beneficial economic engagements.
"Our administration is embarking upon a new age of diplomacy where friendships and relationships are interwoven with mutually beneficial economic engagements," he said.
Mudavadi affirmed Kenya's proactive role in the African Union (AU) Somalia conflict resolution and the integration of Somalia into the East African Community (EAC), placing Ruto at the centre of the negotiations.
"President Ruto has almost singlehandedly led the charge for peace and security in the Eastern Africa region, grappling with formidable challenges related to security and peace," he added.
Mudavadi further emphasized President Ruto's instrumental role in maintaining peace and security within the Eastern Africa region, pointing out Kenya's proactive stance in the African Union (AU) Somalia conflict resolution and the incorporation of Somalia into the East African Community (EAC).
The Prime CS further outlined Kenya's awareness of the existential threat and the nation's advocacy for a global response.
President Ruto's call for a review of the financial architecture of green investments and carbon credit tax at the 28 Conference of Nations (COP28) placed Kenya on a global scale as an environmental champion.
"Our foreign policy advocates for a global response to the crisis of climate change, with President Ruto spearheading efforts for a financial architecture review at COP28," Mudavadi asserted.
