Busia: Doctors remove three-metre-long tree branch stuck in 11-year-old-boy

Doctors from Eldoret Referral Hospital have successfully removed a three-metre branch that had lodged itself in the body of an 11-year-old boy when he fell from a tree in Busia County.

The class three pupil, hailing from Mayole village, Nambale Sub-county, was pierced by the branch under his left armpit; it went through his neck and out his face cheek.

He was rushed to a local hospital in Nambale before being transported to the Busia Referral Hospital and finally Eldoret, where doctors were able to remove the branch via surgery.

According to the child’s mother Beatrice Okello, her son is slowly recovering at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
