Azimio convenes PG meeting to discuss NADCO report
Sources have revealed that the agenda of the meeting, chaired by the coalition's top man Raila Odinga, will be to dissect the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.
The report released by a 10-member delegation team on Saturday has elicited reactions among Kenyans and even created a split between the opposition and government.
NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua alongside Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, who was part of the dialogue team, have disputed the proposals made in the report.
They contest that the report failed to diagnose the pertinent issues burdening Kenyans among them the burdening high cost of living.
NADCO's report said a consensus on the contentious Housing Levy alongside the reduction of VAT on fuel from 16% to 8% was hard to reach. The two levies have attracted sharp criticism against the government.
The proposals are pending approval by the National Assembly and later assent by President Willian Ruto, if a greenlight, is granted.
